The aroma of Hüll Melon is really unique – a nice shift from the more common floral and citrus hop attributes. Traces of honey dew melon and apricot accompany the rich whiskey and slightly smoky scents that the barrels lend. Classic oaky flavors from the barrels are present beginning to end, joined by a bit of vanilla and nutmeg. The base 471 Double IPA is known for its big malty mouthfeel, and this variation of the beer is no exception.

This unique release is a whiskey barrel-aged take on our Small Batch 72 Imperial, an imperial chocolate cream stout. To every 100-barrel batch we add 200 pounds of exquisite 72% cocoa. After spending a considerable amount of time in whiskey-soaked barrels, the finished product is molasses in color and smells of chocolate, wood, and whiskey harmoniously blended together. The beer has a dense and decadent mouthfeel and an abundance of rich flavors, including hints of sherry and dark fruit that complement the toasted chocolate and oak notes remarkably.

Twenty Five is a special-release beer celebrating 25 years of craftsmanship from Breckenridge Brewery. The recipe starts with an imperial version of our popular Vanilla Porter, resulting in more prominent flavors and stronger alcohol. We then let the beer relax in Barbados Rum barrels. In each barrel, we added incredibly rare, fresh, wet, vanilla beans from the Veracruz region of Mexico.
