	Castle Danger Brewery - 17-7 Style: American Pale Ale ABV: 5.80% 17-7 Pale Ale is named after our address in Two Harbors (17-7th Street) that overlooks Lake Superior. 17-7 was crafted in our original 93-gallon system in Castle Danger. It is a hop-forward Pale Ale brewed with our 7-hop variety, but has enough of a biscuit-malt backbone to keep it honest. It is our go-to beer at CDB.

Castle Danger Brewery - Belgian Strong
Style: Belgian Golden Strong
ABV: 8.50%

Belgian Strong pours a rich gold color with a frothy white head and high carbonation. Aroma is dominated by fruity esters, spicy phenolics and subtle bready-malt. Body is medium-dry. The flavors transition smoothly from fresh bread to stone fruit and exotic spices. Belgian Strong finishes off with a lingering warmth, very low bitterness and a subtle spicy/earthy hop aroma.

Castle Danger Brewery - Brut IPA
Style: Brut IPA
ABV: 5.90%

Borrowing its name from the wine world – brut means very dry – this beer boasts a very dry and crisp finish. We use Pilsen Malt, Sauvignon Blanc grapes, and New Zealand hops to provide a unique fruity aroma and gentle bitterness while keeping the beer light in body and color. Hints of green grape and melon add depth to the flavors you get in a traditional IPA, making this unique brew one to try.

	Castle Danger Brewery - Castle Cream Ale Style: Cream Ale ABV: 5.50% Castle Cream Ale was created while sitting around the kitchen table during our start-up days, and the need for a sessionable beer became clear. Castle Cream is our version of a Cream Ale. Deep gold in color, it has a soft malty aroma, slightly sweet creamy texture with a balanced bitterness, while finishing smooth and clean.

Choice Pils is brewed in the tradition of classic German pilsners with our own dangerous twists. We use fine German malts and pure Lake Superior water for a great start, and finish with Saaz and Cascade hops for a floral, citrusy, and spicy zing. We chose to blend a classic European style with American craft brewing ingenuity. Here’s to making good choices.

Castle Cream Ale is a beer for everyone; anywhere, anytime. Golden in color, it has a soft malty aroma, a slightly sweet, creamy texture, and a balanced bitterness. This is a refreshing, light beer that finishes smooth and clean. We added Duluth Coffee Company (Diego Abarca Costa Rican Honey) coffee post-fermentation to add roasty, tangy, and subtle fruit notes to the beer.

Our flagship and first original recipe, Danger Ale is a true North Shore style beer. It was made with a specific profile in mind. According to style guidelines, it falls within the American Strong Ale category, which is not a well-defined style of beer. Solid caramel-bready malt backbone balanced by German Noble hops, fruity/cedar- like esters from the yeast and smooth finish rounds this beer out nicely.

George Hunter Stout is brewed in honor of our brewer and founder's Great-Great Grandfather. George Hunter was an Irish immigrant who owned and operated the Iron Range Brewing Co. in Tower, MN up until prohibition. George Hunter Stout is an American Stout with flavors and aromas of molasses, licorice, maple, coffee, chocolate and cream. It is a big, roasty, full-bodied brew that will stand up to Minnesota winters.

A variation of our Ode IPA – a culmination of our love of hops and the variations of India Pale Ales we have brewed through the years. We like to use hops where flavor and aroma are at the forefront. City, Azacca, Amarillo and Centennial hops lend bright citrus and tropical fruit in flavor and aroma. We’ve infused our Ode IPA with refreshing grapefruit to bring the citrus notes to the forefront.

Castle Danger Brewery - Maple Marzen
Style: Oktoberfest
ABV: 5.70%

Our Maple Märzen is a great fall beer offering highlighting local products. Märzen beers were traditionally brewed in March (März) while the weather was still cool and brewing was practical. The beer would be lagered through the summer and served in the fall. Fall festivals including Oktoberfest proved to be a great time to enjoy these well aged and complex beers which were also crisp and refreshing. Maple Märzen brings traditional German malts and hops and blends them with local maple syrup. The result is a malty flavor that is rich bread-y toast with caramel notes and strong maple character. The German Noble hops lend a subtle balancing spice to the beer but play 2’nd fiddle to the malt/maple profile. German lager yeast helps the Märzen stay crisp and clean tasting, letting the other ingredients shine through. This traditional lager style with an added northwoods twist makes a welcome addition to a sunny but cool autumn day or any campfire.

Castle Danger Brewery - Mosaic Fresh Hop
Style: India Pale Ale

Mosaic Fresh Hop IPA is brewed with farm fresh Mosaic hops, picked fresh off the vine in the Pacific Northwest. Fresh-hopped beers use hops in their purest form; never processed, never dried. This retains the delicate aromas and flavors specific to each hop variety. Mosaic hops deliver juicy, fruity, tropical notes which balance this IPA out nicely.

Castle Danger Brewery - Mosaic Fresh Hop IPA

Mosaic Fresh Hop is brewed with Mosaic Hops, picked fresh off the vine and immediately shipped to the brewery and put into the beer. Hops are traditionally pelletized to lock in oils for long term storage, which removes some of their delicate flavors. Fresh hopped beers use hops in their purest form. Enjoy this farm fresh beer in fall just weeks after the hop harvest.

	Castle Danger Brewery - Nordic Style: Rye Ale ABV: 5.50% This was our first holiday beer, brewed in 2011. It is our take on a traditional Finnish beer called Sahti, which is brewed with juniper berries and rye. Clint took our original lager recipe and brewed it with juniper and rye to give it a great twist, which was so popular that it has become a spring seasonal.

Summer Crush is a beer we brew just for summer. It has a pleasant lemon flavor and aroma - a defining characteristic of using Sorachi Ace hops. Summer Crush is our take on a Shandy without being one. Like a Summer Crush back in the day, or Minnesota’s short summer season, this beer won’t be around for very long. Enjoy it while you can!
