Great South Bay Brewery - Granny Janny's Gingerbread Cookie Ale
Style: Brown Ale

Granny Janny’s Gingerbread Cookie ale is based on our Brewmaster, Rick Sobotka’s, mother’s secret recipe. We took that recipe and constructed our malts for this beer to brew a medium brown colored ale reminiscent of a gingerbread man. We then added spices like cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, brown sugar, vanilla and molasses to the boil to create the flavor and Aroma of freshly baked cookies. Our intent was to capture the cozy feelings of being with family and friends during this holiday season.

Hoppocratic Oath is our salute to hops. The blending of six different varieties of hops over many separate additions throughout the brewing process imparts an immense aroma and flavor with just the right amount of bitterness. While this brew checks in at about 9% alcohol, the huge malt backbone and body comes in to smooth things over into an astonishingly drinkable beer. After one sip you'll be lining up to take the oath!
