The inspiration behind this beer rests in the kitchen of our Tasting Room. We proudly serve a 12 Layer German Chocolate Cake and so desired to build a similar flavor and aromatic profile within this barrel aged beer. This 16.0% Imperial Stout, aged for 12 months in Kentucky Four Roses bourbon barrels, showcases that reminiscent of rich chocolate cake, toasted coconut, caramel and a graham cracker crust. The best part of this beer -- just like our cake -- is that while big on flavors and aromatics, the beer is lighter in body than one might expect. We welcome you to experience Moody Tongue's favorite pairing cake in the form of a beer -- and then let your tongue decide.

The first beer any brewer tastes when visiting another brewery is always its pilsner. Unlike other styles, pilsners can’t hide faults behind malt, hops, or barrels, and so are a true representation of the brewery at hand. At Moody Tongue, they find beauty in the simplicity of this style and as brewers, they respect the challenge. This is their pilsner, and they are excited to share it with you.

The Applewood Gold is a beer true to its name in both hue and excellence. Taste and smell are powerful tools for nostalgia and mood-setting, where certain flavors and aromas can bear the sensor to faraway memories or bring them closer to home. We crafted this beer with sunshine in our minds - making its body light and vibrant enough to enjoy throughout the night, and well balanced to pair with a wide variety of foods from smoked salmon to grilled sweet Midwest corn.

At Moody Tongue, we are inspired by Michigan Blueberries at the beginning of each summer. This year, we wanted to create a light, tart, refreshing beer which would allow the blueberries to shine. Our Sour Blueberry Berliner Weisse showcases blueberries from Klug Farm in St. Joseph, Michigan. This 4%, golden-hued Berliner Weisse highlights the flavors of tart blueberries alongside the aromatics of a blueberry ice pop.

This 13.9% Imperial Stout, aged for 12 months in Heaven Hill barrels, incorporates coffee to showcase aromatics of chocolate-covered espresso beans alongside the flavors of bourbon-soaked coffee cake. Desserts are meant for your glass just as much as your plate, and we recommend indulging your sweet tooth with this Imperial Stout after your next delicious meal.

Flavor: Lychee, Grapefruit Zest, Pineapple In our search for balance, we began to explore the creation of a beer which would celebrate the flavors and aromatics of South Pacific tropical fruits without the bitterness of many West Coast IPAs. The Juiced Lychee IPA showcases the same tropical profile which provides acidity for salsas which cut through rich dishes like al pastor tacos and fried shrimp. Enjoy this IPA on the beach -- or around your closest friends thinking about the beach -- while celebrating with all of the tacos and seafood that you can hold in one hand.
