The complex nose leads off with soft oak, vanilla, applesauce, and mango, with undertones of carmel and butterscotch. The palate is soft on entry with caramel apple and mineral notes, with undertones of lime and hazelnuts. Although the cider is dry, utilization of the winemaking technique of stirring the lee’s gives this cider the body needed to stand up to the oak.

Santa Cruz Scrumpy - Chider

Made by blending Cherry concentrate to our base cider blend, the Chider is the sweetest of our ciders. The soda like aspect of the cherry brings out the Fuji and Red Delicious on the nose, with an overall hard candy appeal. The palate is dominated by sweet dark cherry with undertones of apple and watermelon. The finish is salivating and sweet, much as is the entire approach. Enjoy in the afternoon sunshine, or pair as a desert drink with dark chocolate.

Hand crafted with care from 13 varieties of hand selected local organically grown apples and accentuated with organic pomegranate concentrate. The nose fills out with apple perfume, lavender, and pomegranate, accentuated by fermentation notes of mango, tangerine, and winter spice. The palate is a perfect balance of sour and sweet, much like the bite of a pomegranate.

The cider is fermented along with black currents In a toasted French Oak barrel topped off with one of our barrel fermented sour ciders to give it a crisp fruity slightly sour finish. The Toasted Oak barrel enhances an aroma of bread and butter toast along with the fruity jammy character of the black current reminds us of early morning toast and Jam (black current and apple butter).
