This lovely brown ale is a fine tribute to the classic British browns, with a surprisingly full palate of flavors and a soft, fluffy effervescence that fills the mouth. A touch of caramel, a bit of chocolate and hints of dark fruit make this brown enticingly complex, while the round finish that lingers just long enough encourages me to take another sip.

Miss NC, is a hoppy nod to our home turf. This hazy IPA features Riverbend’s NC grown Carolina Rye heirloom malt. This malt has been grown in the south for over 200 years and imparts herbal spice, citrus, and black pepper notes. We selected Hull Melon and Ella Hops (a tribute to our favorite French Bulldog) to layer massive notes of honeydew melon, papaya, mango, and grapefruit. A perfect IPA to quench your thirst in the heat of NC summer.

Style: Black IPA
ABV: 6.50% IBU: 65.0

We bypassed the normal dry-hopping process of our Black IPA and poured it into fresh VA bourbon barrels for bold finish that retained the essence for the original dark roast malt. Aged in Jim Beam bourbon kegs gives it a nice wood and bourbon flavor. Originally a vanilla and chocolate IPA but drinks more like a porter after the aging losing a lot of the hop characteristics.

THE SCARAB is the beginning of a new era for Big Boss. Our first major barrel aged beer is a Belgian amber aged in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels for 90 days.
