In 1998 Wes Blakeslee, the inspiration for this beer, was diagnosed with ALS. He set out to raise money and awareness for ALS adopting the slogan “Never Surrender 42”. He connected with a group from Duluth doing the same for a friend and the Black Woods Blizzard Tour was born. Wes died in 2003, but the Black Woods Blizzard Tour snowmobile ride lives on, raising over $11 Million to date .www.neversurrenderinc.org/goto/team42
