Style: Saison
ABV: 8.50%

This year’s Fluxus is brewed with our base malt, malted rye, and malted wheat, then hopped with noble hops before fresh ginger root is added in the whirlpool. Following fermentation, the beer is partially aged in oak gin barrels previously used for Barr Hill Tom Cat Gin. The result is a highly aromatic saison with overtones of ginger and botanicals, a hint of vanilla in the flavor, and a vibrant finish.

Allagash Brewing Co. - Astrid
Style: Saison
ABV: 9.60%

Citrus, oak, and anise give way to warm vanilla notes followed by a slightly tart finish. We brew this saison with Pilsner, raw wheat, and Biscuit malt, and ferment it in stainless steel for a year with a blend of traditional saison yeast and Brettanomyces. After fermentation is complete, we transfer the beer to Scandinavian Aquavit barrels, where it ages for an additional eight months.

Allagash Brewing Co. - Avance
Style: American Wild Ale
ABV: 10.00%

Avancé is a complex sour ale with aromas of strawberry preserves and toasted oak. Berries and more oak continue in the flavor, which concludes with a warm, sweet finish. The beer is brewed with multiple sugars including molasses, date sugar, white cane sugar, and dark rock candi. It’s then fermented with four different yeast strains and aged in oak bourbon barrels for a year with Lactobacillus and Pediococcus.

	Allagash Brewing Co. - Barrel Aged Curieux Style: Tripel ABV: 11.00% Allagash Curieux was the first foray into barrel aging. Curieux is made by aging our Tripel Ale in Jim Beam bourbon barrels for eight weeks in our cold cellars. The aged beer is then blended back with a portion of fresh Tripel. The resulting beer is soft with coconut and vanilla notes, with hints of bourbon.

Allagash Brewing Co. - Barrel and Bean
Style: Belgian Tripel
ABV: 10.10%

Barrel & Bean starts its life as our Tripel—a Belgian-style golden ale. We age that beer in bourbon barrels for just shy of two months, before blending it with cold-brewed coffee from Speckled Ax, a Maine coffee roaster. The sun-dried Ethiopian beans in the coffee are known for their stone fruit and dark berry flavors. The finished beer features rich notes of caramel, bourbon, and coffee.

Allagash Brewing Co. - Black
Style: Belgian Stout
ABV: 7.50%

Allagash Black is brewed with 2-row barley, torrified wheat, oats, roasted barley, chocolate malt, black malt and hopped with Northern Brewer and Glacier. A generous portion of dark caramelized candi sugar produces a hint of raisin in the finished beer. The addition of oats lends Black a silky mouthfeel, which is enhanced by rich flavors of coffee and dark chocolate.

Aromas of citrus, pineapple, and passion fruit meld into tropical flavors that pair nicely with the beer’s lightly hopped body. Maris Otter, Munich malts, and raw wheat balance the floral barrage of Bravo, Cascade, Amarillo, Centennial, Citra, and Galaxy hops. By finishing with a mix of pleasant bitterness and tropical fruit, Brett IPA ushers brewing history into the present.

Allagash Brewing Co. - Confluence Ale
Style: Belgian Strong Pale Ale
ABV: 7.50%

Confluence Ale is created with a mixed fermentation; utilizing our house primary Belgian style yeast in combination with our proprietary Brettanomyces strain. The two yeast strains work in tandem creating a marriage between spice and fruit flavors. Confluence is brewed with a blend of both imported pilsner and domestic pale malts as well as a portion of caramel malt, resulting in a complex malty profile.

	Allagash Brewing Co. - Coolship Resurgam Style: American Wild Ale ABV: 6.60% Coolship Resurgam is a blend of both old and young unfruited spontaneous beer. The name comes from the motto of our fair city, Portland, Me. It means "I shall rise again". Coolship Resurgam won a Silver medal at the 2010 GABF.

	Allagash Brewing Co. - Cultive Style: Wheat Ale ABV: 5.40% This wheat beer was aged on peaches that had previously spent time with Farm to Face, another tart peach beer we brew. Some of Cultivé’s many aromas include peach, nectarine, lemon, and spicy tropical notes. This is one tart, peachy, and subtly sweet treat of a beer.

Style: American Wild Ale
ABV: 6.10%

Drinking this medium-bodied beer is like biting into a juicy, yet tart, peach. Farm to Face is brewed as a pale ale and then fermented for ten months in stainless tanks with house yeast. After primary fermentation, Pediococcus, Lactobacillus, and a whole lot of peaches are added. Aromas of green apple and graham cracker accompany a lingering peachy finish.

Florette pours a light red color thanks to the hibiscus petals we add in the whirlpool. On top of color, the petals add a subtle undercurrent of tartness to balance the beer’s hop-derived citrus and tropical fruit notes. Local honey and Belgian-style yeast add the final layer of fruit-forward esters, making for an end result that’s both elegant and extremely drinkable

Fluxus 2015 celebrates the 20th Anniversary of their first beer sold in July 1995. This ever evolving beer is part of the Tribute Series and for 2015 it will be brewed with experimental hops and local maple syrup. Fluxus 2015 is a Golden ale brewed with Pilsner malt and a Belgian yeast strain that is then dry hopped with experimental hops 06277 and 06297.

	Allagash Brewing Co. - Fluxus 2017 Style: Saison ABV: 6.50% This year, Fluxus is a mixed-fermentation saison-style ale brewed with rhubarb. The combination of Brettanomyces and Saison yeast results in complex fruit aromas reminiscent of apricot, mango, and pineapple. Notes of citrus and biscuit combine to create a slightly sour and slightly sweet flavor that finishes with a hint of dry acidity.

Allagash Brewing Co. - Fluxus with Blood Orange
Style: American Porter
ABV: 6.40%

Allagash Fluxus is a beer of continuous change. Brewed differently every year to commemorate our anniversary, this year's Fluxus is a porter brewed with a blend of 2-row, coffee and chocolate malts with blood orange pulp and zest. It was hopped using Perle, Tettnang and Glacier varieties. It was then fermented with a Belgian Abbey yeast.

Allagash Brewing Co. - FV 13
Style: American Wild Ale
ABV: 8.90%

FV 13 marks our first venture into the world of foudre beers. Foudres are giant oak tanks used for aging. FV 13 is a blend of wild yeast and bacteria, a base beer with lots of malt character, and about four years of patience. The finished beer is copper in color, with an aroma of cherries and caramel. The flavor is a blend of sweet and tart, with notes of fruit and caramelized sugar. The full mouthfeel gives way to a tart, mouth drying finish.

The liquid equivalent of biting into a raspberry-filled dark chocolate cake. Aromas suggesting mixed berry and roasty cocoa meld with flavor notes of tart raspberry, cherry, and subtle coffee. Even without the addition of chocolate, Ganache gains its cocoa notes from a robust grain bill featuring Special B, caramel malt, raw wheat, oats, our 2-row base malt, Midnight wheat, and black malt.

Dark golden colored beer, brewed with Victory, 2-Row and Red Wheat malt. It was lightly hopped with a blend of Northern Brewer and Simcoe hops. The beer started it's primary fermentation in a stainless tank and finished fermentation in a 800 gallon oak foudre. The finished beer has fruity nose and flavors of citrus, apricot and bread crust. The mild tartness of the beer gives way to a long, clean finish.

Doomed by a love of pitch-black Porters and our Allagash House Beer, we summoned the recipe for Haunted House. Roasted Barley and Blackprinz malt curse this beer with a gravely dark hue. Hopped with Tettnang, Chinook, and Saaz hops, this beer ends with a ghost of coffee-flavored bitterness and hauntingly complex malty palate.

In appearance, this beer is all stout. Its black body and brown foam are the result of a grain bill containing: 2-row malted barley, multiple roasted malts, Munich malt, and local oats from Aurora Mills and Farm. To notes of coffee and chocolate, the saison yeast adds mild tropical fruit esters and a rustic spice. The addition of rich lactose sugar is tempered by the beer’s lightly bitter finish.

We brew this beer with a blend of dark Munich malt, chocolate wheat, midnight wheat, and roasted barley, and hop with Cascade and Northern Brewer. Hive 56 undergoes initial fermentation then transfer to a foudre with Brettanomyces bruxellensis and fresh honey from our Allagash beehives. Over 18 months, the honey transforms, resulting in a beer with bold, roasty flavors, and a hint of tropical fruit.

Hugh Malone is brewed with a blend of pilsner malt and raw wheat. Each year, multiple test batches are run to experiment with different hop combinations in search of the right balance of citrus, fruit, pine, and spice notes. While there is a commonality between the hops used in Hugh Malone each year, there’s always great variety.

Allagash Brewing Co. - Interlude
Style: Belgian Ale

Two yeast strains were used to create this unique Belgian-style ale. The first, a Saison yeast, establishes the flavor foundations of a classic Belgian-style ale.The second, our house strain of Brettanomyces yeast, contributes a myriad of flavors including pear, apricot, graham cracker, and bread crust. A portion of Interlude is aged in red wine barrels, which imparts a distinctive vinous, plum character and a drying, almost tannic finish.

James Bean is a bourbon barrel aged, Belgian style strong ale that is infused with cold press coffee, post fermentation. Coffee, vanilla and bourbon dominate the aroma. Flavors of caramel, coffee, bourbon, and oak present themselves throughout this full bodied beer. The coffee used in James Bean is Matt’s Wood Roasted Organic Coffee, roasted right here in Maine.

Style: Barrel-Aged Sour

Aromas of mocha, black currant, and anise. Notes of oak, vanilla, and honey follow, giving way to a clean, dry finish. We brew this beer with 2-row, Midnight wheat, raw wheat, and rye malt. It’s hopped with a blend of Perle, Glacier, Simcoe hops, and Brettanomyces yeast. After four months of aging in a stainless steel tank, we transfer Josephine to cognac barrels where it ages for an additional year.

One malt, our 2-row barley blend, and one hop, Mosaic, add to its simple, yet balanced characteristics. Little Brett comes out a hazy, straw-colored beer featuring an aroma bursting with pineapple and notes of bread crust. Pineapple continues through the flavor with additional notes of fresh cut grass. A mild tartness in the finish is rounded out by a pleasant hop-bitterness.

Map 40 is a Belgian-style stout blended with cold-brewed coffee from Speckled Ax, a local coffee roaster. Black in body with a tan, reddish-tinged head, this beer’s aroma is strong in coffee and light in roasted grain. Brewed with dark chocolate malt, chocolate malt, roasted barley, and brown malt. A light nuttiness accompanies tastes of chocolate, raisin, and a resounding coffee note that weaves its way throughout. This is a rich, creamy stout with a clean finish.

Midnight Brett gets its name from the Midnight Wheat we brew it with. The aroma opens with fresh berries and sour cherries, and ends with a warm roastiness. Each sip offers smooth drinkability met with the zip of tart fruitiness on the palate. It’s hopped with a blend of Perle, Glacier, and Simcoe hops. The yeast works its magic over the next eight months where the beer ferments in a stainless tank.

Neddles begins as a traditional sour brown ale brewed with a blend of pilsner, Munich, Special B, and caramel malts. American ale yeast before we add Pediococcus and Lactobacillus for souring. Neddles is then sealed in oak barrels previously used for aging rum. Its aroma blends stone fruit, sour apples and caramel, while its berry and molasses notes are punctuated by a touch of tartness.

Out of the deepest night shines a sliver of light. In making Nocturna we age our silky stout, Allagash Black, in bourbon barrels with vanilla beans. Allagash Odyssey is a dark wheat beer aged for ten months, a portion in oak barrels and the remainder in stainless tanks. The recipe includes 2-row barley, malted wheat, a generous amount of roasted barley and Belgian candi sugar. This deep brown beer boasts an aroma of black treacle and raisin. The flavor hints at dates, with a mildly roasted finish imparted by aging in both medium and heavy toast American Oak barrels. The finish is dry, punctuated by vanilla.

Allagash Brewing Co. - Pastiche
Style: Barrel Aged Ale
ABV: 8.50%

Pastiche is a barrel-aged blend of four different ales aged in twice as many barrels. Barrels included in the aging process were: rye whiskey, vermouth, port, rum, bourbon, red wine, gin, and brandy. After aging the beers between three and four months, the brewers got together and blended them all into a single, unified whole called Pastiche. This complex amber beer contains notes of caramel, dried fruit, spirits, and oak.

Style: American Wild Ale

Pick Your Own begins as a sour red ale that’s aged in an oak foudre with Lactobacillus and Pediococcus for two years. After adding fresh, local raspberries, cherries, strawberries, and blueberries, we age it for an additional three months. The finished beer is a vibrant, ruby red with an aroma of ripe berries and vanilla. As you might expect, berries fill the flavor.

Pilsner with Brettanomyces adds Belgian flair to a classic German style. After brewing and hopping with Strisselspalt and Czech Saaz, we dual ferment it with a lager yeast and Brettanomyces—a type of wild yeast. The two yeast strains work together to create a flavorful and balanced profile that blends tropical funk and light tartness with a pilsner’s signature lagered flavor.

Session Brett is a hazy,straw colored beer, using a pilsner and 2-Row malt blend.This beer was both brewed and dry hopped with 100% Mosaic hops. Session Brett was completely fermented in stainless with our house Brettanomyces.The finished beer has an aroma bursting with pineapple and notes of bread crust. Pineapple continues throughout the flavor with additional notes of fresh cut grass. A mild tartness in the finish is nicely balanced with a pleasant hop bitterness.

We named this beer to honor the rich tradition of farming in the sixteen counties of Maine. We brew the beer with malted Maine-grown barley, unmalted Maine-grown red wheat, and Maine-grown organic oats. Sixteen Counties has a bright copper hue with aromas of lemon rind, flowers, and candied grapefruit. The first sip opens with herbal hop notes, wheat cracker, and citrus and ends with a balanced, dry finish.

Strictivus is a wheat beer that we age on a blend of locally sourced fruits. Right after we pulled a batch of Pick Your Own (a tart, wild ale) of off these fruits — cherries, raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries—we filled the tank back up with Strictivus. With only around a month of aging, the beer is transformed. To its already spicy and citrusy notes, the fruit adds a variety of tart berry flavors.

While brewing this beer, we add sauvignon blanc must—the freshly pressed juice of the grapes. Then we ferment it with both lager and champagne yeast to create a tart, crisp, and dry profile. The finished beer’s aromas of pear, grape, and light hops pair with a flavor profile that’s a mix of tropical fruit and the snappy spritz of a freshly picked grape.

Uncommon Crow’s aromas of dark chocolate and cherries bloom into big blackberry flavor and a slightly tart finish. We brew this beer with 2-row barley, Midnight wheat, raw wheat, and rye malt, before adding a blend of Perle, Glacier, and Simcoe hops. The beer is fermented exclusively with our house strain of local Brettanomyces yeast. After six months in a stainless tank we add local blackberries.

Style: Belgian Strong Dark
ABV: 7.40%

The brew begins by mashing in two thousand pounds of Pilsner malt with five hundred pounds of Cabernet Franc grapes. It’s then hopped with Hallertau. Fermented first with a strain of wine yeast, then finished with Belgian abbey-style yeast. Victor Ale presents a medium body, a vinous character, and a spicy, tart finish. Its beer sibling is Victoria, which uses Chardonnay grapes, but is otherwise identical.

Brewing Victoria begins by crushing five hundred pounds of chardonnay grapes and adding them to the mash with two thousand pounds of Pilsner malt. The brew is then lightly hopped with Fuggles and Hallertau and finished by fermenting with a strain of wine yeast. The result is a beer with golden highlights, a fruity nose, and a long complex finish.
